The Challenge
To perform migrations between messaging systems, Canyon Networks employees experimented with different methods such as PST import/export. However, the company quickly identified several issues with this approach. For example, it found that using PST import/export could result in unrepliable emails. As a result, users would need to manually overwrite email addresses when responding to most migrated emails. To correct the problem, Canyon Network employees also experimented with scripting, but still found the whole process cumbersome. Canyon Networks was therefore looking for a solution that would be fast, reliable and easy to use. Taking advantage of a Microsoft promotion, Canyon Network’s Harrington was able to evaluate MigrationWiz’s cloud-based solution to migrate some of the company’s mailboxes to Microsoft Office 365.

For example, the creation of a global administrative account on the destination system which expedites the entire migration process and removes the need to troubleshoot permissions on the mail system,” said Harrington.
